Eight local organizations will soon receive grant funds from the City of Huntsville through a program with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
At its January 23 meeting, City Council authorized the City's Community Development Office to distribute Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the following organizations:
Alabama Non-Violent Offenders Organization - $15,000
Funds will be used for the operating costs and administrative salaries of personnel overseeing the Non-Violent Re-Entry Program.
Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama - $119,817
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries for personnel overseeing educational, preventative, leadership, recreational and organized sports programs.
Christmas Charities Year Round - $20,000
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries for personnel overseeing the Mobile Closet Program.
ENABLE Madison County - $10,000
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries for personnel overseeing the Emergency Home Repair and Disability Modifications Program.
First Stop - $25,000
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries for personnel overseeing the Mental Healthcare Program.
HATCH - $100,000
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries for personnel overseeing the Economic and Workforce Development Program.
Thrive Alabama - $15,000
Funds will be used for the operating costs of the Healthcare and HIV/HCR Prevention Education and Testing Program.
Village of Promise - $15,000
Funds will be used for the cost of administrative salaries of personnel overseeing the Family Connections Program.
