Brené Brown and Adam Grant Join Forces in The Curiosity Shop, a New Weekly Podcast from Vox Media

Research professor Brené Brown and organizational psychologist Adam Grant are partnering with Vox Media on a new weekly podcast built around their unflinching commitment to learning and unlearning. At a time when public discourse rewards certainty over inquiry, The Curiosity Shop will see two of the world's most influential thought leaders make the case for slowing down, asking better questions, and embracing informed complexity over easy answers. Bringing together their left and right brain sensibilities - she's a qualitative researcher; he's a quantitative researcher - they will explore some of the defining questions of our time, unpack the research reshaping how we live, love, and lead, and dive deep into the ideas, evidence, and cultural moments intriguing them the most. Though they've made many appearances on each other's podcasts over the years, The Curiosity Shop marks the first time Brown and Grant have teamed up as co-hosts. Launching on Thursday, March 19th, with a teaser out today, new episodes will be available weekly on Thursdays on audio and video platforms.

"Our relationship is actually a curiosity. We rarely agree, we almost never disagree, and we always learn. This is going to be fun!" says Brown. "This collaboration is like the best game of tennis I've ever played. I can't wait to have a weekly excuse to rally," says Grant.

Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston, where she holds the Huffington Foundation Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work, and a Professor of Practice in Management at The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. She has spent more than 20 years studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and works with organizations around the world to develop braver leaders and more courageous cultures. In 2024, she was named Executive Chair of the Center for Daring Leadership at BetterUp. Brown is the author of seven New York Times bestsellers, including Strong Ground, named Business Book of the Year by Amazon. Her TED talk, "The Power of Vulnerability," is one of the most-viewed TED talks in the world. Her earlier podcasts, Unlocking Us and Dare to Lead, received numerous global awards, including Apple's Best New Podcast.

Adam Grant is an organizational psychologist who studies how we work, live, and find meaning. He is Wharton's top-rated professor and a #1 New York Times bestselling author of six books, including Think Again and Hidden Potential, which have sold millions of copies worldwide. His TED talks have been viewed more than 35 million times, and his podcasts Re:Thinking and WorkLife have surpassed 100 million downloads. Grant has been recognized as one of the world's most influential management thinkers and one of Fortune's 40 under 40, and has advised leaders at organizations including Google, Pixar, the NBA, and the U.S. Department of Defense. His viral NYT op-ed on languishing was the most-saved article of 2021, and he is a former magician and Junior Olympic springboard diver.

"Brené and Adam have each shaped the modern conversation around leadership and human connection," says Lillian Xu, Vox Media's VP for the podcast business. "In The Curiosity Shop, their distinct perspectives meet in real time, challenging each other - and all of us - to rethink what we know. Curiosity is the throughline across all our podcasts, so we're especially excited to partner with Brené and Adam to bring this conversation to life to audiences everywhere."
