The University of Scranton's campus dining options are affordable, customizable and delicious, earning it national recognition ahead of hundreds of competitors.
Scranton ranks No. 2 in Pennsylvania and No. 47 nationally on the "Best College Food in America" list published by Niche. The website, which is one of the leading platforms for information on academic institutions, evaluated 107 colleges and universities in Pennsylvania and 1,441 across the nation.
The University's dining options include a food court on the first floor of the DeNaples Center, which has multiple stations and restaurants offering grab-and-go items and counter-service, including Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and Which Wich. There is an additional food court at Montrone Hall, as well as the Fresh Food Company, which has numerous cooking stations in an open kitchen environment on the third floor of the DeNaples Center. There is also an Einstein Bros. Bagels shop at Leahy Hall; the Provisions on Demand (POD) Market at the Weinberg Memorial Library for grab-and-go items; the DeNaples POD Market for convenience store items; Costa Coffee; a Just Baked machine; and more.
Scranton received an "A" grade from Niche in "Campus Food."
Niche's rankings are based on data including student reviews and meal plan costs.
"Top-ranked colleges offer outstanding on-campus dining," Niche says on its website. "Students can easily access healthy, quality food across a wide range of cuisines and dietary preferences."
