In 2024, Ratti launched an innovative pilot project focused on occupational health and safety training called Training Breaks. This programme introduces a new training approach aimed at raising awareness and educating employees about work-related risks, with a particular emphasis on the dangers associated with the use of chemicals in textile printing production.
Through active collaboration with the internal trade union and workers' safety representatives, a shared project was developed to enhance risk perception among all safety stakeholders, including workers, supervisors, and managers. The initiative stands out for its practical and engaging approach, with training sessions held directly at workstations. These sessions integrate theoretical and practical elements, ensuring that they are easily understandable and accessible to all participants.
This methodology enables the programme to address department-specific challenges, tackling concrete issues that arise throughout the production process lifecycle. Under the coordination of the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) function and with support from Human Resources, customised programmes were created for each production department. The aim is to drive continuous improvement and reduce the risks of accidents, near-misses, and hazardous situations. Initial feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with workers demonstrating improved risk awareness and safer behaviours, significantly contributing to prevention efforts and strengthening a company culture rooted in safety.
The project benefits from the synergy between the extensive experience of long-serving employees and the innovative perspective of newer generations. This "cross-pollination" has transformed the Training Breaks into a unique opportunity for growth and enhancement-not only in terms of workplace safety but also for the broader production system.
With the introduction of Training Breaks, Ratti SpA SB reinforces its commitment to a safe and sustainable work environment, in alignment with its mission as a Benefit Company. This pilot project marks a further step toward creating a working environment where safety and performance are closely connected, ensuring the well-being of all employees.
