NEW: Gabe Evans Repeatedly Refuses To Oppose Child Abuse
In tonight's debate on 9News, Gabe Evans was asked when it's acceptable to hit children at home or in school - and he repeatedly refused to say he opposed adults hitting children when pressed three different times.
Evans is a member of Heritage Defense, which defends parents accused of beating their children and explicitly supports "corporal punishment". In the state legislature, Evans voted against a ban on corporal punishment in Colorado public schools. It couldn't be more clear that Evans is a threat to the safety of Colorado kids.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Gabe Evans failed to answer the easiest question in the entire debate - when is it acceptable for adults to hit children in schools? The fact that he couldn't oppose child abuse is immediately disqualifying and tells Coloradans everything they need to know."
