Nighttime Work and Lane Closure in Half Moon Bay on SR-92 starting Tuesday, October 28

Published: Oct 22, 2025

San Mateo County ― Caltrans crews will repair worn pavement on State Route (SR) 92 starting from the intersection of SR-92 and SR-1 and continuing one-half mile east of Main Street in the city of Half Moon Bay beginning on Tuesday, October 28. There will be one-way traffic control between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The project is scheduled to be completed in early December.

Crews will use a "cold planer" asphalt milling machine to grind and remove the top layer of the roadway's surface, creating a smooth, uniform base before placing new asphalt concrete.

Residents can expect nightly construction noise, especially during the grinding phase which will last from Tuesday, October 28 to Saturday, November 1. Noise levels will be monitored for the duration of the project.

All work is weather dependent. Please drive with caution. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
