On Monday, April 27, 2026 at approximately 12:15 a.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct responded to reports of a shooting outside of a bar in the 500 block of Northwest 13th Avenue. When they arrived, officers located two adult females who had been injured. A third victim, also an adult female, went to a hospital via private vehicle. The suspect in the shooting fled prior to police arrival. PPB's Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to the scene to investigate and determined the victims were innocent bystanders. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Shannon A. Lyons, 31, of Portland. On Thursday, May 14, 2026, PPB's Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT), with assistance from ECST and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), located and arrested Lyons in the 600 block of Southeast 10th Avenue in Hillsboro. Lyons was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) and lodged on the following charges: Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
"Our detectives and officers worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend this suspect, and we're grateful for their dedication and professionalism throughout the investigation," Chief Bob Day said. "Violence of this nature has a profound impact on victims, families, and the broader community. We hope this arrest brings a measure of reassurance as this case now moves through the criminal justice system."
