Congressman Abe Hamadeh Joins President Trump and Industry Leaders to Celebrate Investment in Arizona and the America First Manufacturing Agenda

Washington, D.C. - Arizona Congressman Abraham Hamadeh joined President Donald Trump on Wednesday along with top executives from companies including Nvidia, Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly, GE Aerospace and SoftBank, to celebrate their increasing investment in the U.S.

TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.), a cutting- edge technology company based in the 8th Congressional District, plans to invest $100 billion in chip manufacturing plants in the U.S. over the next four years.

"It was my pleasure to join President Trump and industry leaders in the White House today to celebrate the return of American manufacturing and to highlight the exciting developments facilitated by the Trump administration's Investment Accelerator Program," stated Congressman Hamadeh. "Thanks to President Trump's bold leadership, TSMC is making the largest single foreign direct investment in U.S. history with much of it invested right here in Congressional District 8."

"This investment will not only serve to improve the quality of life in Arizona's 8th Congressional District, but it is also exactly what residents voted for," concluded Congressman Hamadeh.

BACKGROUND:

As reported by the Phoenix Business Journal, due to the Investment Accelerator Program, TSMC completed construction of its second fab at its north Phoenix campus ahead of schedule to meet AI-related chip demand from customers. TSMC Arizona's third fab facility will create cutting-edge chips that advance American artificial intelligence, data centers, and smartphones.

In 2020, TSMC announced its plans to invest $12B in Congressional District 8 - bringing the most advanced chip manufacturing in the world to the United States. In December 2022, TSMC announced its commitment to build a second fabrication facility (fab), increasing its total investment to $40B.

TSMC Arizona's investment will put Arizona on track to produce 20% of the world's most advanced semiconductors.
