LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - The office of U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has been named a '2026 Democracy Award' recipient by the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) for Best of Constituent Correspondence & Engagement.
The award recognizes a representative's sustained excellence in constituent communication and engagement across their district. Specifically, the 'Best of Constituent Correspondence & Engagement' category recognizes offices that excel in constituent communication through letters, email, social media, outreach, and ongoing dialogue with the communities they serve.
"Representative government only works if people can reach their elected officials," said Congressman Flood. "That's been a priority of my office since day one. Winning the award for 'Best of Constituent Correspondence and Engagement' reflects the work my office has done to make sure people in Nebraska's First District can always reach their government - whether through town halls, newsletters, or just picking up the phone and getting them a real answer. I'm incredibly proud of my team and am grateful for how hard they work to ensure people across our First District have a voice in Washington."
"In an era when many Americans feel disconnected from their government, Rep. Flood's office made constituent communication a clear priority. Effective constituent engagement doesn't happen by accident, it requires intentional leadership, strong systems, and a commitment to treating communication as a core responsibility of representation. By building a culture of responsiveness and ensuring constituents felt heard and informed, the office created a model that strengthens the connection between citizens and Congress." said Jen Daulby, CEO of the Congressional Management Foundation.
The Congressional Management Foundation is the premier bipartisan foundation dedicated to strengthening the first branch of government. The Democracy Awards are CMF's signature program recognizing the best in congressional non-legislative achievements.
