Dispose of scrap tires at free March 28 collection event

Published on March 18, 2026

Fort Worth residents are invited to participate in a free Scrap Tire Collection event taking place on Saturday, March 28. Residents can dispose of old or used tires from their home or littered in the community.

This year, as part of the citywide Cowtown Great American Cleanup, the tire collection event provides a convenient way to properly dispose of unwanted tires and continues its supporting efforts to reduce illegal dumping, prevent fire hazards and keep waste out of landfills - no cleanup participation required.

Scrap Tire Collection site

Location: Fort Worth City Hall, back parking lot (Forest Park Boulevard entrance)

Date: Saturday, March 28

Time: 8 a.m.-noon

There is no limit on the number of tires residents may bring, and disposal is free of charge.

Accepted items and preparation

  • Tires from passenger vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles
  • Tires from small equipment such as bicycles, scooters, dollies and lawn equipment
  • Rims (please separate from tires, when possible)
  • Tires and rims must be free of dirt, water, oils and paint

Not accepted: Tires from commercial vehicles or 18-wheelers.

Make it a cleanup day

Residents can take advantage of both opportunities on March 28 - drop off unwanted tires at City Hall and take part in the 41st Annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup.

Thousands of volunteers will take part in this citywide effort happening next week throughout Fort Worth to pick up litter and care for the community.

Residents can get involved in a way that works best for them - whether cleaning up a neighborhood, park or nearby public space or joining a designated hub location. All registered volunteers will receive free cleanup supplies to support their efforts.
