ATLANTA - Today, State Senator Blake Tillery (R-Vidalia), chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, and State Representative Matt Hatchett (R-Dublin), chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, released the following joint statement:
"In light of the governor's closing of state buildings ahead of winter storms on Tuesday, the Joint Appropriations hearings for Tuesday and Wednesday will be postponed.
At this time, Thursday's hearings will recommence with video remarks from Governor Kemp at 8 a.m. and the Department of Behavior Health and Developmental Disabilities to follow at 8:15 a.m. The remainder of Thursday's hearings will follow as scheduled.
Should the weather dictate additional changes, we will let you know."
Representative Matt Hatchett represents the citizens of District 155, which includes Johnson and Laurens counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Health, Rules and Rural Development committees, as well as the Special Committee on Resource Management. He also serves as Ex-Officio of the Ways & Means Committee.
