Kelly Clarkson gushed over a "gorgeous," "breathtakingly beautiful" performance on The Voice.
Two singers on first-time coach Queen Latifah 's team, Kayleigh Mathews and Lillie Kolich, delivered a stunning rendition of "Girl Crush" by Little Big Town, earning praise from all four coaches. Clarkson hailed it her "favorite" cover of the 2014 ballad.
"I've heard this song done a lot, y'all. That was my favorite," she said. "It's so gorgeous. Kaleigh, you just have such a huge presence. But your range is incredible. It was like a master class, man. And Lillie, from the first time you opened your mouth, it crushed me. You made some choice on the word 'maybe.' …That 'maybe' broke me in, like, the best way ever. It was such a rad choice. It was so breathtakingly beautiful, both of you. …You both could be in the final. You're both incredible."
Latifah said she felt "honored" to witness the "gorgeous" rendition of the Little Big Town hit. "Neither one of you should go home," she said.
Ultimately, Latifah chose Kolich as the winner of the battle; however, Matthews isn't headed home. Clarkson immediately pressed the button to steal Matthews for her team, and Riley Green, followed, prompting a competition between the two coaches.
"Remember when you thought you were going home? The feeling you felt when you were like, 'Oh, my God, she picked me.' ..I picked first," Clarkson said as coach Adam Levine stood in front of Green. "I have won a competition. I promise you, I can do it. I think you should pick me."
The "My Way" artist took his turn to convince Matthews to join his team.
"I've obviously been a huge fan of you since your first audition, and it was a four-chair turn," h said. "I remember pulling out any tricks I could - duck calls, anything I could do to try to get Adam to stop talking and everybody to shut up. And the reason that Adam stands in front of me and Kelly yells is because they don't want you on my team because they know we're going to win The Voice. And I don't blame them for that. …I would love for you to be on my team, and let's go win The Voice."
