Piedmont Athens Regional opens Building 400 at Oconee Health Campus

Watkinsville, Ga. (September 9, 2026) - Piedmont Athens Regional staff and community members recently gathered to celebrate the opening of Building 400 at Piedmont Athens Regional Oconee Health Campus, expanding access to outpatient clinical services for patients in Watkinsville and surrounding communities.

Construction on the project began in January 2026 and marks the latest chapter in the growth of the campus, which first opened in 2017 with Buildings 100 and 200. The campus will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2027.

"We are excited to open Building 400 and expand services at Oconee Health Campus," said Paige Porterfield, manager of business development for the Oconee Health Campus. "We're committed to making it easier for patients to access specialized care in a convenient location closer to home."

Building 400 brings together a variety of outpatient services such as rehabilitation services including adult neurological and concussion rehab, lymphedema, and pelvic floor therapy; outpatient lab services; the Breast Health Center; obstetrics and gynecology; cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation; cardiology; and a lactation support group.

The Oconee Health Campus has continued to evolve since its opening nearly a decade ago, supporting Piedmont Athens Regional's mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in Oconee County. The addition of Building 400 further strengthens the campus as a destination for comprehensive outpatient care.
