ATLANTA - State Representative Brad Thomas (R-Holly Springs) invites residents of Holly Springs, Hickory Flat and the Sixes Road corridor to attend a special town hall meeting focused on recent growth-related developments, the importance of accountability in local governance and the impacts certain decisions are having across the community on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Historic Hickory Flat Gym in Canton, Georgia.
"This town hall is about ensuring residents have accurate information, understand where things stand and can hear directly from their elected officials," said Rep. Thomas. "Open dialogue, clear facts and accountability are critical as we work through these issues and protect the long-term interests of our community."
While Rep. Thomas regularly hosts town halls to engage with constituents, he emphasizes that this meeting will be intentionally focused on providing updates regarding ongoing discussions and negotiations, addressing resident concerns, rumors and certain information surrounding recent growth decisions.
Rep. Thomas and Cherokee County Commissioner Richard Weatherby will share updates on House Bill 1029, along with broader state and local developments affecting Holly Springs, Hickory Flat and Sixes Road. The discussion will examine how growth decisions affect infrastructure capacity, traffic conditions along Sixes Road, public services and long-term community stability - and why transparency and accountability are essential to maintaining public trust.
