Beginning on Monday, October 26, 2026, South Six Mile Road will be closed between 49th Street and 57th Street. Traffic will be detoured to South Sparta Avenue.
Signature Companies will be making a new underground sewer connection. With favorable conditions, this street closure is anticipated to remain in place for approximately three days.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Beginning on Monday, October 26, 2026, drivers should expect lane closures through the intersection of West 26th Street and South Marion Road, along with restrictions on left turns.
Crews will be working to complete the remainder of the concrete repairs in the intersection. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times.
The intersection is expected to be complete and fully open to traffic by mid-to-late November.
Motorists should utilize alternate routes. Traffic delays are expected with this work.
Additional project information is available on the City's Street Construction webpage.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds in the work zone, and consider alternate routes when traveling in the area.
