Police officer assigned to the Community Response Group assisting the investigation.

Seattle police officers arrested a teen last night for shooting at police during a vehicle pursuit in North Seattle yesterday afternoon.

On November 18th at 2:12 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a drive-by shooting in the 900 block of Sandpoint Way Northeast.

Police determined that a maroon Honda minivan was shooting at a white transport van. The victim vehicle left the scene and was not located; no known injuries occurred.

The Honda fled from officers, and they initiated a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle drove recklessly into oncoming traffic and reached estimated speeds of 90 miles per hour when getting away.

At about 2:20 p.m., witnesses reported that someone in the passenger seat of the vehicle was shooting at the officers pursuing their vehicle. Neither the officers nor their patrol vehicle were struck by gunfire.

Multiple 9mm shell casings were recovered near the intersection of Northeast 137th Street and 15th Avenue Northeast.

The maroon minivan was located unoccupied more than an hour later. This vehicle was previously reported stolen Sunday night in the 3400 block of 33rd Avenue West. Police impounded the van to the processing room.

Investigating officers located video evidence of one of the suspects fleeing the area on foot.

Police were familiar with this teen as he was previously arrested on September 12th for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Taking a Motor Vehicle Without Permission.

Officers located the suspect inside his residence at the 6800 block of 62nd Avenue Northeast and arrested him for Drive-By Shooting, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and felony Assault.

The firearm was not located. Another suspect believed to be involved was investigated and released by officers at the North Precinct pending further information.

The 14-year-old suspect was booked into detention at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center.

Detectives with Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating this case.
