Mayor Suzanne LaFrance invites all community members seeking employment opportunities to the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center on Thursday, January 23, 2025from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Mayor's Citywide Job Fair. More than 130 businesses, organizations, and municipal departments will be gathered to meet and find new hires. The fair is free and open to all.
"Our community is full of people who work hard and are proud of what they do," Mayor LaFrance said. "Getting together in the same room is a simple and effective way to make those key connections that put people to work and support our economy."
Employers representing government, military, retail, finance, law enforcement, security, sales, marketing, medical, hospitality, food service, Native corporations, transportation, education, construction, natural resources, utilities, unions, social services, and other sectors will be looking to connect with potential matches.
More than 500 job seekers attended last year's fair, and participants reported the process resulted in successful interviews and hires. This year's fair will help employers and workers meet complementary needs to fill vacancies and spotlight employment opportunities residents might not otherwise be aware of. Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their most up to date resume to leave with potential employers.
Any employers still interested in joining the fair as a vendor can contact Phil Ayers at 907-952-2186. There are five spaces left. Vendor participation is free.
Thanks to support from our partners at EasyPark, vendors and job seekers can park for free on the day of the far at the garages at 6th & H Street and JCPenney (6th & E) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
