SACRAMENTO - As Caltrans' work on the final phases of the $511.1 million U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) Multimodal Corridor Enhancement "Fix50" Project continues, overnight lane reductions are scheduled for next week.
Crews will be working on joint seals, final striping, electrical, drainage and landscape work along westbound US 50 from 26th Street to the Interstate 5 interchange in downtown Sacramento.
Schedule:
Caltrans reminds drivers to use alternate routes, expect delays, stay alert when traveling through work zones and pay close attention to advance warning signs. Motorists are also encouraged to plan and allow for extra travel time.
The ongoing work is part of the project to rehabilitate pavement and add 14 lane miles of high-occupancy lanes from the US 50/Interstate 5 interchange to the US 50/Watt Avenue interchange.
The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph, and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement. For more information visit the U.S. Highway 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement and Rehabilitation Project on the Caltrans District 3 website.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed but is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of equipment and/or materials or other construction-related issues. Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
The department issues construction updates on X @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans' QuickMap or download the QuickMap app from the App Store or Google Play.
