Public input needed on Yuma-area transportation improvements

The Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO) and the City of Yuma have released draft project recommendations for two major transportation plans, and are inviting the public to weigh in. These recommendations will improve mobility and safety through roadway and intersection upgrades as well as enhancements to bike, pedestrian, and transit networks.

Community input, local leaders, and technical analysis all played key roles in identifying transportation challenges and shaping policy and project recommendations for both YMPO's Long-Range Transportation Plan and the City's Integrated Multimodal Transportation Master Plan. The resulting draft project recommendations reflect earlier public feedback received and align with the long-term visions, goals, and priorities established by YMPO and the City.

As a part of its plan, YMPO has also developed the following supporting documents:

  • YMPO FY 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program: Outlines short-term transportation improvement priorities.
  • YMPO Air Quality Conformity Report: Demonstrates compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards.

Draft project recommendations and reports are available for public review and comment online through Saturday, July 12. To explore the proposals and share your feedback, visit https://www.GreaterYumaMoves.com.

The GreaterYumaMoves website serves as the central location for project information, study area maps, and project documents for both the YMPO and City plans.
