MariBell Transmission Project: March Open Houses

Dairyland Power Cooperative and GridLiance Heartland have announced the next round of public open houses for the MariBell Transmission Project in Wisconsin. The open houses will offer residents the opportunity to speak with project representatives, ask questions and provide input and comments on the transmission line and proposed routes.

Mark your calendars:

  • March 10, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
    Gays Mills (Wis.) Community Center

  • March 12, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Retreat Sportsman's Club (De Soto, Wis.)

The approximately 140-mile, 765 kV / 161 kV double circuit MariBell transmission line is proposed from Marion, Minn., to Bell Center, Wis. The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and Minnesota Public Utilities Commission will determine the need and route, following thorough public outreach and comment periods, environmental and regulatory review processes. MariBell is part of a larger effort by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) regional transmission organization to maintain a safe, reliable and resilient electric grid.
