Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in view of Iran’s military support to Russia’s[...]

On 29 January 2026, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP)2025/2631 amending Decision (CFSP) 2023/1532 concerning restrictive measures in view of Iran's military support to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and to armed groups and entities in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.

The Council decided that four persons and six entities should be included in the list of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex I to Decision (CFSP) 2023/1532.

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
