NTCA Cautions FCC Against Adopting Expansive National Security Interconnection Rules

(July 8) In a filing with the FCC, NTCA urged the commission to ensure any new restrictions on telecommunications carriers' ability to interconnect with other providers are narrowly tailored to address specific national security risks and do not disrupt existing communications services or slow the industry's transition to IP networks. NTCA also said any prohibitions should be limited to entities expressly identified on the FCC's Covered List and remain within the commission's statutory authority.
