GKN Aerospace Claims Program Opens For Residents And Businesses

Eligible people and businesses affected by the May evacuation can now submit claims through GKN Aerospace's (GKN) court-approved claims program, which provides up to $100 million for qualifying expenses and losses.

"Our community has waited long enough for compensation," said Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. "GKN must now deliver an accessible process, timely review and prompt payment of approved claims."

An independent administrator will review claims from eligible people displaced from homes within the evacuation zone and businesses within the zone that evacuated when ordered. Qualifying claims include lodging, meals, transportation, lost wages and loss of use. Eligible businesses may also seek compensation for lost profits.

Claims may be submitted through the program's online application portal at www.gknggclaimsprogram.com. Applicants who need help with their claims can call 657-526-7470 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The location for in-person assistance and details on scheduling appointments will be announced on the application portal.

Applicants are encouraged to review the program's instructions and gather identification, proof of their home or business address during the evacuation and any required records supporting their claimed expenses and losses. Claims will be accepted for six months after the program's launch or until $100 million in claims have been approved for payment, whichever occurs first.

The City of Garden Grove will continue sharing verified information about the claims program and safety requirements.
