Milling and Resurfacing on Route 17 and Route 80 in New Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 17 and Route 80 in New Haven. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, October 21 and be completed on Monday, November 3, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.22-mile segment of Route 17 and a 0.45-mile segment of Route 80 in New Haven from Dump Road (Route 17) to Route 103 (Route 80). This project is scheduled to begin milling by Tilcon on Tuesday, October 21 to Monday, October 27, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon is anticipated to begin on Monday, October 27 to Monday, November 3, 2025.

This project is included in CTDOT's 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 17 and Route 80 from Dump Road (Route 17) to Route 103 (Route 80). The I-91 northbound Exit 8 off-ramp and the I-91 southbound Exit 8 on and off-ramps will also be temporarily closed during the night. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
