Your Guide to Halloween Fun in Grand Prairie

Halloween is almost here, and Grand Prairie is getting ready for a spooktacular season of family-friendly fun. In 2025, Grand Prairie was ranked the No. 3 safest city in Texas for trick-or-treating by SafeHome.org, making it a great place to celebrate the season with family, friends, and neighbors.

This Halloween, residents can find plenty of ways to get into the spirit around town, including trick-or-treating, costume contests, fall festivals, Halloween movies, a costumed 5K, and plenty of activities for the whole family.

Pumpkin Run

Saturday, October 10 | 8 a.m.

Lace up for the 40th Annual Pumpkin Run, hosted by the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club. Participants can choose from a 10K run, 5K run/walk, or 1-mile fun run/walk. The event also features pumpkin decorating and face painting.

Participants can enjoy a free pancake breakfast, T-shirt, and finisher medal. Proceeds support local charities and community nonprofits.

Howl-O-Ween Party

Sunday, October 11 | 3-7 p.m.

Join Grand Prairie Animal Services for a spooktacular afternoon of Halloween fun! Enjoy games and activities for all ages, an indoor trick-or-treat trail for kids, an outdoor Bark-or-Treat trail for furry friends, local vendors, plenty of candy, and a spooky Haunted Hallway for those brave enough to enter.

Trunk or Treat

Friday, October 16 | 5-7 p.m.

Get ready for a spooktacular evening at Charley Taylor Recreation Center! Enjoy face painting, bounce houses, a petting zoo, food trucks, games, and local organizations with creatively decorated trunks handing out candy.

Forest of Fear

Saturday, October 17 & 24 | 6-10 p.m.

Get ready for a spooky drive-through Halloween adventure at the Forest of Fear! Hop in your car and make your way through a chilling Halloween experience filled with eerie sights and plenty of scares. All ages are welcome.

Location: Loyd Park, 3401 Ragland Rd.

Admission details: $20 per vehicle, and the last car must enter the line by 9:15 p.m.

Annual Fall Block Party

Thursday, October 29 | 5-7 p.m.

Come out to Dalworth Recreation Center for a fun-filled evening of fall activities. Enjoy games, inflatables, free food, entertainment, and time with family and friends.

Halloween Movie Night

Thursdays in October | 5 p.m.

Spooky season calls for a movie night! Bring your friends, family, and Halloween spirit, then settle in with free popcorn and lemonade.

Trick or Trail

Friday, Oct. 30 | 5-7 p.m.

Head to the Tony Shotwell Life Center for a spooky Halloween night filled with fun activities, local vendors, and plenty of candy! Grab your family and come enjoy an evening of Halloween fun.

Haunted Hustle

Saturday, October 31 | 8 a.m.

Hit the trail for the first-ever Haunted Hustle at Epic Rec. Participants can run or walk the family-friendly 5K while showing off their most creative, spooky, or hilarious Halloween costumes. A costume contest will also give one lucky participant the chance to take home a killer prize.
