WASHINGTON -

More than 1,400 bank leaders from the across the country will gather in Washington this week for the 2026 American Bankers Association Washington Summit to discuss the biggest banking policy issues and to hear from many of the top regulators and lawmakers shaping those policies. The general sessions at the banker-only event will be live streamed (in-person press registration details are also below).

ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols, ABA Chair and First Independence Bank Chairman and CEO Kenneth Kelly, Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman, Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould, FDIC Chairman Travis Hill and Conference of State Bank Supervisors President and CEO Brandon Milhorn are just some of the speakers who will appear at the Washington Summit starting Tuesday at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C.

The Summit speaker list also includes members of the Senate Banking Committee, Sens. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.), Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) and Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.).

ABA will livestream Summit general sessions next Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m. ET on its X handle @ABABankers.

The event will kick off on Tuesday with opening remarks from ABA's Nichols who will outline the association's current policy priorities followed by Sen. Rounds, who will join ABA Executive Vice President of Congressional Relations and Legislative Affairs Kirsten Sutton to discuss the outlook for banking legislation in this midterm election year. Sens. McCormick and Alsobrooks will appear later on Tuesday, as will CSBS President and CEO Milhorn. Tuesday's general session will also include panel discussions on crypto market structure/stablecoin and other key policy issues in play as bankers head to Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers.

Wednesday's livestream will begin with opening remarks from ABA Chair Kenneth Kelly followed by a fireside chat between Fed Vice Chair Bowman and Nichols. Next, a panel featuring perspectives from bankers and ABA experts will discuss emerging policy responses to today's scam ecosystem. Later, ABA Executive Vice President of Financial Institution Policy & Regulatory Affairs Hugh Carney will moderate a conversation with FDIC Chairman Hill. The general session will also include a conversation between ABA's Nichols and Comptroller Gould, as well as a fireside chat between ABA's Sutton and Sen. Moreno.
