PM-25-051: Pistachio Crop Provisions Changes Effective for the 2026 and Succeeding Crop Years

BACKGROUND:

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) amended the Pistachio Crop Provisions for the 2026 and succeeding crop years, with the following changes:

• Allow optional units by organic farming practice and consistency updates for optional unit division;
• Clarification of the specific method and timing of actions that will be taken if any circumstances occur that may reduce yields from previous levels; and
• General grammar and plain language clarifications throughout.

ACTION:

The Pistachio Crop Provisions (26-0470) will be available by close of business today on the Risk Management Agency (RMA) website at https://www.rma.usda.gov.

Approved insurance providers must notify policyholders of these changes at least 30 days prior to the cancellation date, as required by the policy.
