Estrella Parkway Repaving Project Begins Sept. 14

Goodyear's Public Works Department is preparing to launch a roadway improvement project on Estrella Parkway between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street. The mill and overlay asphalt repaving is scheduled to run from Sept. 14 through Nov. 4, bringing important improvements to one of the city's most traveled roadways.

To minimize daytime traffic impacts, crews will conduct paving work overnight from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. During construction, two travel lanes will remain open in each direction during morning and afternoon peak hours. Some daytime lane reductions may occur outside peak periods, but the goal is to limit most restrictions to nighttime hours whenever possible.

The project involves removing the top two inches of deteriorated pavement and replacing it with new asphalt designed to improve roadway conditions. This process enhances drivability, extends pavement life and resets the maintenance cycle for the corridor.
