Rep. Gill Announces the 2025 Congressional App Challenge Winner

Flower Mound, TX - Congressman Brandon Gill (R-TX) announces the winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The annual app competition was open to private, public, and home-schooled students in middle and high school who reside or attend school in the 26th Congressional District of Texas.

This year's winning app was created by Tanish Chauhan, a senior at Prosper High School. The winning app is entitled "Hedgex". Hedgex is a stock market education platform built with Flask and finance that teaches beginners how investing works through clear, easy-to-understand lessons. It includes a $100,000 paper-trading simulator, a backtesting tool, and a real-time stock data lookup, allowing users to practice trading, test strategies, and understand key financial metrics without risking money. Together, these tools create a complete, risk-free learning environment for building real investing skills.

"Congratulations to Tanish for his tremendous work in creating the winning app!" said Congressman Gill. "Texans young and old contribute so much to the advancement of technology and innovation in our state and in our nation. Every student who entered the challenge displayed skill and creativity through the creation of their apps. I applaud all the young innovators who participated in this year's contest."

As the TX-26 district winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge, Tanish will be invited to join other district winners from across the nation to attend the #HouseOfCode Reception in Washington, D.C., in 2026. This event serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate the innovative contributions of these outstanding young minds in the field of computer science. Tanish's "Hedgex" app will be displayed electronically in the U.S. Capitol building for one year. Additionally, the winning apps from participating congressional districts across the country will be posted on the U.S. House of Representatives' website and the Congressional App Challenge website for one year.
