VICENZA, Italy - Giorgia Zantedeschi, an Italian employee at U.S. Army Garrison Italy was recently recognized for her commitment to personnel protection, earning honors for Giorgia Zantedeschi at the 2025 Installation Management Command-Europe Safety Awards.
Zantedeschi earned the Army Individual Award of Excellence in Safety. Due to her exceptional performance, she has been invited to represent IMCOM at the upcoming Army-level Safety Awards competition.
Colonel Vaughn Strong, USAG Italy's commander, praised the collective safety effort, noting that her achievement reflects a culture of vigilance across the entire Vicenza and Darby military communities.
The recognition underscores the safety office's mission to implement proactive risk management and hazard reduction. As Zantedeschi moves on to the Army-wide stage, the award serves as a testament to the high standards maintained by the USAG Italy team, Strong said.
"This has been an exceptional year for safety," Strong said. "This award highlights the dedication and proactive efforts of not only Ms. Zantedeschi, but the entire garrison."
Tommy Mize, director of IMCOM-Europe, recently announced the awards results, noting a strong year of safety performance across the command. He congratulated Zantedeschi, plus USAG Stuttgart for earning the Army Exceptional Organization Safety Award and Rachael Long of the USAG Stuttgart Safety Office for receiving the Army Individual Award of Excellence in Safety.
