TEDCO Announces the Urban Business Innovation Initiative Entrepreneur-in-Residence Selections

The program encompasses two urban areas across the state, Baltimore City and Prince George's County

COLUMBIA, Md., (October 5, 2026) - TEDCO, Maryland's economic engine for technology companies, announces the selected entities and entrepreneurs for the Urban Business Innovation Initiative (UBII) Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) Grant Program. The updated program encompasses two urban areas in Maryland - Baltimore City and Prince George's County - while also reflecting TEDCO's continued commitment to advancing Maryland's innovation ecosystem by expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.

"By restructuring the UBII program, we are aiming to provide more opportunities for entrepreneurs across urban Maryland," said Troy LeMaile-Stovall, TEDCO CEO. "The organizations and entrepreneurs-in-residence were selected after careful consideration."

The selected grantee organizations in Baltimore City include the University of Baltimore Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Loyola University. Selected grantee organizations in Prince George's County include Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation and Bowie State University Entrepreneurship Innovation Center. Each entity will be responsible for collaborating with TEDCO to align EIR activities with broader ecosystem goals, including outreach, startup engagement, data collection and reporting.

The selected entrepreneurs-in-residence include:

  • Marcus Bullock, University of Baltimore Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Jon Weinstein, Loyola University Maryland
  • Glen Hellman, Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation
  • Kiante Bush, Bowie State University Entrepreneurship Innovation Center
  • Binta Mamadou, Bowie State University Entrepreneurship Innovation Center
  • Tsega Tadesse, Bowie State University Entrepreneurship Innovation Center

"This new structure builds on the positive impact UBII has had over the years while creating even more opportunities to support entrepreneurs," said Karen Zuccardi, ecosystem director, Venture Development. "We are looking forward to working with our EIRs and partners to support more entrepreneurs, strengthen economic development and continue building a thriving innovation ecosystem across Maryland."
