Ella Langley said it was "typical" that Riley Green "took credit" for her success during a recent episode of The Voice.
Green, 37, is serving as a coach for the first time on the competition show's milestone 30th season. During the blind auditions, Green was vying for sister duo Ferryn & Brinkley. He told the sisters, who worked as performers at Dolly Parton's Dollywood in East Tennessee, that there's a "girl that reminded me a lot of y'all. I took her on tour with me. Her name's Ella Langley. She's doing pretty well." The duo ultimately chose Green's team.
An Instagram user brought up that moment as the "Choosin' Texas" hitmaker streamed a live video. The fan asked, "When Riley took credit for your success on The Voice did that rub you the wrong way?!"
Langley, 27, took a moment to read the question and replied, "Yeah, when that man took credit, no, didn't love that. But typical. Typical. Pretty typical."
Some social media commenters have applauded Langley for addressing the comment. Others have said they didn't believe Green intended to take credit for her accomplishments.
The last time the two Alabama-born country stars toured together was Green's "Damn Country Music Tour," which ran through mid-2025. The pair first teamed up on "you look like you love me," a viral duet that appeared on Langley's debut studio album in 2024. They teamed up again on "Don't Mind If I Do," the title track of his third studio album that same year. Those duets earned several awards, including Song of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards and Music Event of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
