Mayor President Edwards Declares Emergency for EBRP and Announces City Parish Closure

Baton Rouge, LA - January 17, 2025 - Mayor-President Sid Edwards has issued a parish-wide Emergency Disaster Declaration in preparation for the upcoming prolonged freezing temperatures. This emergency declaration enables East Baton Rouge Parish to implement necessary emergency plans and request additional resources as needed in order to supplement local efforts and capabilities to save lives and protect property.

As a precaution, City-Parish offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to the freezing temperatures .

Use this time to prepare your families and homes for the upcoming weather conditions.
