Moldova’s European Agenda Discussed at the Ambassadors Meeting

22 December 2025, Chișinău - The progress achieved and the priorities on the country's European agenda were discussed during the panel entitled "The Republic of Moldova's Accession Process to the European Union", held as part of the Meeting of Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In her address, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov emphasized the need to maintain a steady pace of reforms, noting that European integration has become a national objective that entails shared responsibility for both state institutions and society as a whole.

"European integration is no longer only a foreign policy objective, but a fundamental domestic policy goal. Our aim is not only to be prepared, but also to be convincing partners for the European Union, in order to move forward toward the signing of the Accession Treaty in 2028 and accession in 2030," stated Cristina Gherasimov.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi underlined the strategic role of diplomacy at both national and international levels, as well as the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen dialogue with the EU and to create the necessary conditions for advancing Moldova's European path.

"European integration is the Republic of Moldova's top priority. We will make every effort to become members of the great European family as soon as possible," said Mihai Popșoi.

It should be noted that the Meeting of Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of the Republic of Moldova is taking place in Chișinău on 22-23 December.
