For the third consecutive year, TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is celebrating the company's core values with a special day devoted to giving back in the community it serves. Called TDS Cares Day, on Tuesday, June 17, TDS associates across the country are amplifying philanthropic activities, putting into practice the principle of investing in people and communities through acts of giving, including donations and volunteer work.
"On TDS Cares Day, we take special pride in increasing our normal giving activities and seeing the positive impacts where our customers and associates live and work," said Drew Petersen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
Today, the company is giving more than $10,000 to local organizations across the country and donating hundreds of hours of volunteer time. Examples of activities by associates on TDS Cares Day include:
In addition to investing in people and communities, TDS shared values include drive customer loyalty, champion inclusivity, act with integrity, and foster teamwork.
The company puts its values in action through its Be Good Citizens program. TDS associates receive 16 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer at 501(c)(3) organizations. In 2023, associates gave more than 1,400 hours to charitable organizations. In 2024, associates volunteered more than 1,800 hours supporting approximately 311 charitable organizations nationwide.
