The City of Simi Valley has begun the Madera Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project, located between Highway 118 and Cochran Street. The project will rehabilitate the existing bridge to help preserve its long-term structural integrity, improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, and extend the life of this important transportation corridor.
"Maintaining our transportation infrastructure through proactive rehabilitation projects like this helps extend the life of our bridges while improving safety and reducing the need for more extensive repairs in the future," said Mayor Dee Dee Cavanaugh.
The project, estimated at $752,595, will rehabilitate the bridge by resurfacing, repairing concrete and sidewalks, improving paving, and installing new pavement markings and signage. These upgrades will preserve the bridge, enhance the driving surface, and provide a smoother ride for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Construction is anticipated to continue through July 31, 2026, with work occurring on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents should expect periodic lane closures during construction. Work is scheduled during weekday daytime hours to minimize impacts on commuters while allowing crews to safely complete the project.
