Route 60 Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Fordland Focus of Virtual Public Meeting May 18-June 1

Fordland - Those interested in the U.S. Route 60 Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Fordland are invited to view the proposed improvements and project information via a virtual (online) public meeting from Monday, May 18, until Monday, June 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Starting May 18, the virtual public meeting can be accessed here to learn about the project, ask questions, and leave comments: http://www.modot.org/southwest

Comments on this project can be mailed in, emailed, or submitted online through the project website until Monday, June 1. For those unable to access the online meeting, contact MoDOT's Southwest District Office at 417.895.7600, and accommodations will be made to share the information.

Project highlights:

  • Rehabilitate eastbound and westbound U.S. Route 60 bridges over Webster County Route PP, BNSF Railroad and Front Street in Fordland

Traffic Impacts:

  • U.S. Route 60 reduced to one lane in each direction
  • Webster County Route Z drivers accessing westbound U.S. Route 60 will be directed along a signed detour east on Route 60 to the Route A interchange at Diggins
  • Route PP reduced to one lane under the U.S. Route 60 bridges with traffic controlled by flaggers and/or temporary signals
  • Front Street CLOSED under the U.S. Route 60 bridges for duration of project
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes

Construction Date: Spring 2027

Completion Date: Spring 2028

Estimated Total Construction Cost: $6.6 million
