Passenger Killed In Monday Morning Crash On Tulip Grove Road

The MNPD Traffic Division is continuing its investigation into Monday's 2:40 a.m. two-vehicle collision on Tulip Grove Road at Chandler Road that claimed the life of Ritaben Patel, 63. The preliminary investigation indicates Patel was the passenger inside a Mazda MZ3 traveling north on Tulip Grove Road when it was struck on the passenger side by a westbound Dodge Ram pickup truck as both vehicles entered the intersection.

Patel died at the scene.

There was no evidence of impairment on part of either driver. The driver of the Mazda was transported to the hospital with a minor head injury.

Both drivers reported having the green light at the time of the crash. Further investigation will be conducted to determine which vehicle did, indeed, have the green light.
