President Taylor reflects on year of growth at LU

In case you missed it, Lamar University President Jaime Taylor recently joined the LU Moment podcast to reflect on a standout 2024-25 academic year.

Taylor spotlighted LU's designation as an "Opportunity University," a new Carnegie classification recognizing schools that combine high accessibility with strong graduate earnings. He noted that LU's engineering alumni now out-earn graduates from many top-tier institutions over a 20-year span.

He also highlighted major campus upgrades, including Wi-Fi improvements, dining hall renovations, and a reimagined John Gray Library that will serve as a centralized hub for student support.

Investments in student health, recreation, athletics, and student engagement helped drive record freshman enrollment and boosted involvement with new school traditions like the first ever Ring Ceremony, adding to the vibrant campus life.
