RE: Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of County Commissioner Maurice Perkins

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Suwannee County Commissioner Maurice Perkins passed away after battling cancer. Commissioner Perkins was a devoted public servant who spent his career committed to bettering the lives of the people in his community. He was a pastor and a licensed contractor in the area and was respected by many. He had served as a County Commissioner for District Two since 2022.

To honor the memory of Commissioner Maurice Perkins and his service to our state, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout Suwannee County from sunrise to sunset on Friday, December 5, 2025.
