Stony Brook Cheer and Dance Teams Competing in National Championships

The Stony Brook University cheerleading and dance teams - and Wolfie - are headed to Orlando, Florida to compete in the 2025 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team Championships.

The annual event is one of the most prestigious collegiate national championships for the cheer and dance in the country. It will take place from January 17-19 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The SBU dance team features 16 athletes, consisting mostly of underclassmen with one returning fourth year senior, and they feature multiple honor society and dean's list members. The team competed at the Long Island Dance Team Association (LIDTA) competition at Nassau Community College on January 11 and placed second overall in Pom.

When it's not on the sidelines of SBU football and basketball games, the Stony Brook cheerleading team competes at the UCA nationals every year in the both DI All Girl Game Day and Traditional categories.

Wolfie will also be competing at the UCA/UDA event for best mascot.
