Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas sent a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, to United States of America on the Independence Day. Prime Minister Paluckas wished the USA wellbeing and success, as well as long years of continued prosperity and enduring unity.
'This day is more than a national celebration - it is a powerful affirmation of the principles that define the United States and inspire democracies around the globe: liberty, democracy, and the unwavering courage to defend them. These are not abstract ideals for our nations - they are lived, tested, and deeply personal. They are the very foundation of the close strategic partnership between Lithuania and the United States.
As NATO Allies, our countries share a steadfast commitment to collective defence and the principles enshrined in the Washington Treaty. For many years now, we have stood side by side - not only in moments of celebration but also in times of hardship. Whether it is defending our shared security, responding to crises, or facing loss - as we did recently - we know we are never alone. That is what true partnership means,' said Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas in his message of greetings to Vice President of the USA, J. D. Vance.
Prime Minister stressed that Lihuania deeply values the continued presence of U.S. troops in Lithuania - it not only strengthens our national defence but also stands as a clear and powerful symbol of Allied unity. The stronger the U.S. presence in our region, the more stable and secure the entire transatlantic community becomes.
'Today, as threats to freedom grow louder, we must remain even more united. We both know what it means to fight for freedom, and supporting Ukraine is our obligation. We must continue to stand with Ukraine, and promote the values we believe in - dignity, democracy, and peace.
As we look ahead, I am confident that the bond between Lithuania and the United States will remain unshakable. Our partnership is not built on convenience but on conviction. And with conviction, we will continue building a safer, freer world - together,' said Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas.
