The Sonoma County Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) are dedicated to monitoring and sustaining local groundwater levels. Groundwater plays a critical role in supporting agriculture throughout Sonoma County, representing between 30% to 60% of groundwater use in Petaluma Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and Sonoma Valley. While levels remain stable in some areas, others are showing long-term declining groundwater levels in the deep aquifer system, including portions of the Sonoma Valley subbasin. To address these challenges, the agencies are considering a range of strategies and are seeking input from the community on this work. Share your input today!

The survey is intended to capture feedback from agricultural property owners, farmers, processors, and other groundwater users and entities that support agriculture to ensure programs are practical, effective, and aligned with the needs of the agriculture community.

Too often government agencies develop policies and regulations that don't work on the ground or have unintended consequences for regulated entities. This we feel is an opportunity to provide input on Sonoma County's groundwater management by taking this 22-question survey which will be reviewed by the GSAs as they continue to develop programs and policies. Your input is appreciated!
