SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation today announced the selection of Paul Charkiewicz as the new Information Management and Technology Manager for the California-Great Basin Region.
"Paul brings a breadth of experience and knowledge to this position, previously serving Reclamation's Central Valley Operations Office for 14 years," said Regional Director Karl Stock. "His prior service leading a diverse work force encompassing multiple aspects of communications, computers, and engineering projects, will further enhance our agency's capabilities."
As IMT Manager, Charkiewicz is responsible for overseeing technology for the entire California-Great Basin Region. His duties include the operation, maintenance, and oversight of all local IT support. He also oversees mission IMT activities, including all operational technology within the Region. Additional assignments include serving as the Region's Information Resources Management Council member, a Reclamation Data Council member, and as the Regional IT investment manager.
Charkiewicz has been with Reclamation since 2010 most recently as the Acting IMT manager. Prior to that, he served as the Industrial Controls Engineering Branch Supervisor, and before then, as an IT Specialist in the Industrial Control division supporting the Region's control systems. Charkiewicz began his career working for Anheuser-Busch at the Fairfield Brewery as a Systems Engineer.
Charkiewicz holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Sacramento State University.
