Josef Hoog Community Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Novato invites our community to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating the completion of renovations at Josef Hoog Community Park. Join us on Saturday, December 13, 11am at Josef Hoog Community Park, 551 Marin Oaks Drive, for a Novato Fun celebration featuring remarks from the City Council, light refreshments, and an opportunity to play and explore the new playground.

With construction now complete, we're excited to officially unveil your new and improved community park. Renovations include:

  • Installation of a brand-new, fully fenced playground
  • Newly paved pathways
  • Parking lot improvements
  • Restroom enhancements
  • Water fountain replacement

Identified as a priority in the City's Parks Master Plan, this project was approved by the City Council as part of the Fiscal Year 2024/25 budget and supported by one-time ARPA funding as well as $200,000 in matching grant funds from GameTime for playground equipment.

"Josef Hoog is such a special community park with plenty of green space, walking paths, a half basketball court, reservable barbecue area, and now a new, more inclusive playground that families can enjoy for years to come," said Katie Gauntlett, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director. "Our community made this possible. Your ideas, feedback and passion for our parks guided this project every step of the way, and we can't wait to keep building on that momentum with our next park project."

The City of Novato is proud to deliver these meaningful enhancements and invites all community members to join us in celebrating this milestone together.
