For the 31st year, Boswell's Harley-Davidson is partnering with the MNPD for Saturday's Annual Toy Parade, the primary fundraising event for the police department's Christmas Basket Program benefiting Nashville families. The Toy Parade and Harley riders have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past three decades to help ensure that those less fortunate have a meaningful Christmas.
This year's Toy Parade will stage outside Boswell's at 401 Fesslers Lane. Registration begins at 9 a.m., kickstands up at 12 p.m. The ride, featuring hundreds of motorcycles, will proceed through downtown and end at Scoreboard Bar & Grill on Music Valley Drive for an after party.
"Middle Tennessee has so many great and caring motorcycle riders," said Toy Parade organizer Gary Bagwell. "This event shows the community our passion to help others. We are proud that Harley owners and the Metro Police Department have partnered together for more than 30 years to make a difference for families in need."
Participating riders are asked to bring a new toy and/or make a cash donation. The money and toys will be used to support the police department's annual Christmas Basket Program, now in its 64th year, through which police officers deliver food and toys to needy Nashvillians on Christmas Eve morning. Hundreds of men, women and children comprising more than 200 families will receive surprise gifts of food and toys this year.
All riders and brands of motorcycles are welcome to take part in Boswell's Toy Parade.
