On March 18, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin attended and delivered remarks at a themed event marking the 2026 International Chinese Language Day and the first International Taijiquan Day, jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Sweden and China Cultural Center in Stockholm. Mr. Joakim Enwall, professor and sinologist at Uppsala University, Mr. Peder Finnsio, President of the Swedish Kung fu and Wushu Federation, Mr. Wu Dong, professor at Beijing Sport University, as well as over one hundred local teachers and students, participated in the event.
Ambassador Zhou noted that the Chinese culture has long emphasized ideas such as harmony without uniformity, harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, as well as inclusiveness and mutual learning among people. The Chinese language and martial arts both embody the Chinese nation's vision that all the people under the heaven are of one family and all nations should live in harmony. He expressed the hope that friends in Sweden would gain deeper understanding of the Chinese language and culture, foster mutual learning between Chinese and Swedish cultures through exchanges and dialogue, and strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
The event offered participants lectures on Chinese culture, martial arts performances, and booths on "Study in China" and the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), creating a warm, festive, and joyful atmosphere.
