4th Annual Pulse of the Community Gala to support imaging services at OGH

Ellicottville, NY - Olean General Hospital (OGH), a Kaleida Health facility, will host the 4^th Annual Pulse of the Community Gala on Friday, October 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.at Holiday Valley Resort's main lodge.

The event is presented by the Olean General Hospital Foundation (OGHF) to support imaging services at OGH, helping advance technology and resources that support patient care across the healthcare system. The black-tie event will feature a strolling agenda, live music by Big City Horns, endless hors d'oeuvres and an opportunity to win a $10,000 diamond necklace donated by Ask Design Jewelers, to support our mission.

"Imaging services are truly at the heart of healthcare, supporting nearly every area of the hospital and helping our providers diagnose, treat and monitor patients," said Steve Jackson, president, Olean General Hospital Foundation. "From the Emergency Department and surgery to cancer care, women's health and inpatient services, imaging plays an important role in the care our patients receive every day. Supporting imaging services through this year's Gala is an investment in the technology, equipment and resources that help us provide exceptional care in our surrounding communities."

Since its inception, the Pulse of the Community Gala has brought together community members, healthcare providers, employees and supporters to celebrate local healthcare and raise funds for important services that support the region. Since 2023, $385,000 has been raised at this event for regional care supporting more than 140,000 individuals.

The event will also recognize recipients of the Golden Stethoscope and Nightingale awards. The Golden Stethoscope is presented to physicians who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, integrity and teamwork in caring for patients and families and working with hospital staff and fellow physicians.

This year's Golden Stethoscope honorees are Tahir Chauhdry, DO, obstetrics and gynecology, and Philip Senger, MD, emergency medicine, at OGH.

The Nightingale Award, named after Florence Nightingale, recognizes nurses who provide exceptional patient care, excel in patient and family education, foster open communication and serve as role models for their peers. This year's Nightingale honorees include Cheryl Wier, MSN, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P, NYSAFE, Sharon Walsh, RN, acute care, Kristyn Wilber, RN, oncology, and Gabrielle Schulze, BSN, RN, acute care.

"The gala gives us an opportunity to recognize the people who make a difference in the lives of our patients every day while bringing our community together to support the future of local healthcare," added Jackson.

Imaging services supports a wide range of care throughout OGH, providing diagnostic and clinical imaging that helps physicians identify conditions, guide treatment decisions and monitor patients throughout their healthcare journeys. From emergency and inpatient care to surgical services, cancer care, women's health and outpatient services, imaging is an integral part of patient care.

Tickets are $150 per person and include an open bar, endless hors d'oeuvres and entry into the $10,000 diamond giveaway.
