Marion County Wins East Central Florida Regional Planning Council Photography Award

Marion County is proud to announce that Mark Anderson, public relations specialist for the county, has won the Photography Brilliance Award at the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council's 2025 annual photo contest.

Anderson's winning photo was captured at Horseshoe Lake Park & Retreat. This scenic county park on Horseshoe Lake offers outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, swimming, and picnicking, while highlighting the natural beauty found in Marion County.

As part of this honor, Anderson's winning photo was displayed at the East Central Florida Diamond Awards ceremony. Winners received complimentary tickets for themselves and a guest to the ceremony, which took place Feb. 25, at the Brannon Center in New Smyrna Beach.

The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council's annual photo contest celebrates photographers who excel in capturing the essence of the region. Anderson's achievement places Marion County in the spotlight and underscores the county's commitment to excellence in public engagement and communications.
