Thirty Injured When Car Strikes Crowd near East Hollywood Nightclub

Thirty people were injured, with 23 requiring hospital care, after a vehicle was driven onto a crowded sidewalk near an East Hollywood nightclub early Saturday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received the first of several 9-1-1 calls at 1:59 AM on July 19, 2025, reporting multiple persons struck by a compact passenger vehicle near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.

LAFD crews arrived quickly in the vicinity of the Vermont Hollywood nightclub to find 30 adults in need of prompt medical attention for assorted injuries, including 7 in critical condition, 6 in serious condition and 10 in fair condition.

A total of 124 Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were deployed to the scene to assure a timely and efficient team-oriented triage, treatment and transportation of 23 patients to area hospitals. This included the critically injured male driver of the vehicle, who was reportedly assaulted and shot by bystanders following the collision.

The remaining 7 patients declined ambulance transportation.

The Los Angeles Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
